STRENGTH COACH [2 positions]

Ideal
-
Strength coach: experience/aptitude/interest in most strength movements, including barbell.
Cycling coach: experience leading performance based cycling, coaching with power, RPM and zone training.
Run coach/lead: experience leading/coaching in all seasons in long distance running & extensive experience participating in long distance running events -
Strong anatomical/mechanical knowledge of the body and science-forward coaching philosophies

Is able to efficiently manage small and large (20+) people of varied skill levels through thoughtful, inspired and progressive programming.

Positive, upbeat, welcoming attitude.

Run coach: can run 10+ kms with ease in all conditions
Nice to have

Method of transportation to centre town (bus, bike, by foot or vehicle)

Flexible schedule with the ability to help with occasional substitutions

Valid and up to date CPR/AED certification

Strength & Cycling coach: Personal device to play music (wired or bluetooth)

Salary & Benefits

Coaches: Competitive salary of $40 per class and flexible salary options for personal training (split, rental, etc.)
Front Desk: $24 per hour with CPP, EI and vacation deductions + tax deductions. -
Complimentary individual and plus one membership for partners/family

Coaches: Option to be considered a contractor or employee (tax deductions, CPP, EI & vacation pay inclusive.)

Weekly salary payment direct to account with automated employment documents issued annually.

Casual & comfortable dress code
An example of an average coaching experience in studio could look like:
-
Arriving to the studio 15-20 minutes minimum prior to your class
-
Setting up the TV/projector, music, equipment prior to class beginning
-
Reviewing the class registration list for guest injuries, special ocassions, pronoun preferences, etc.
-
Welcoming guests into class and assisting new guests into the space.
-
Asking the class to disclose any new/undocumented injuries and begin your class.
-
After class, tidy the class and put all equipment away. Clean the floor in case of debris and walk through studio/washrooms for any left over items, etc.
-
Hang out until the last person in your class leaves (when there is no front desk staff) and chat with /assist guests.
An example of an average front desk experience in studio could look like:
-
Arriving to the studio on time for your shift
-
Walk through of studio to tidy, prepare cleaning products, complete cleaning tasks (vacuum, garbages, etc.)
-
Reviewing Momence and inbox for class lists, emails, communication and any other pertinent communication
-
Welcoming guests into class and assisting new guests into the space.
-
Assisting instructors as needed with class management, incoming/late guests, etc.
-
Completing general administrative duties on shift such as processing payments, registering new clients, completing reports, etc.
-
Tidy and prepare studio for the following day, set alarm and lock up at the end of each shift.
